Banco Popular uses the most advanced security systems to assure you the utmost online security available. In the online world our systems are protected by firewalls, encryption and monitoring systems, among others.
Enrollment: When you enroll to Internet Banking, we authorize the access to your accounts after validating that the information you entered was correct. To confirm your access, we send you a confirmation e-mail and you can start using Internet Banking right away.
Sign-on: When you sign-on to Internet Banking, the information is sent encrypted via SSL (Secure Socket Layer). For improved security, we require a double authentication method, where we will first ask for your username and password and after authenticating these, if you select remember your computer, we’ll place a token for identify your computer or if you select share or public computer we’ll ask you one of three secret questions.
Personal Information: We will never ask for your personal information via e-mail. Fraudulent e-mails, or phishings, generally send you an urgent notification that your information has been lost. We have advanced backup systems that ensure your personal information is stored securely.
E-mail alerts: If you change your password or your connection parameters, we will send you an e-mail alerting you of this change.
Session: As an additional security measure and to prevent unauthorized access to your accounts, Internet Banking sessions expire after 5-30 minutes of inactivity.
